Meike grew up in the local area close to Mullaloo Beach, as a child she always loved doing fiddling craft projects and worked hard at her schooling. Her academic pursuits took her towards the medical field and Keith directed her gently by saying “why not try dentistry, you might like it?” She applied to the UWA dental school in 1999 and was accepted.
Despite her initial hesitation, the combination between science and art within the dental field really appealed to her, she worked hard and completed her studies at the OHCWA.
After graduating in 2004 Meike moved to work for the Queensland government at the Bundaberg Base Hospital, treating some of the more vulnerable community members. Here she gained experience in removable prosthodontics (dentures) and extractions. It was here she met her husband Brad who works in the same industry as a dental technician. They returned to Perth in 2008 and Meike worked for many years under Keith’s mentorship both in Connolly and North Beach.
